An Invitation from Pastor Mark Levering

You are all invited to our home next Monday, November 15, 7:00PM for a brief report on our recent Russia trip and a time of fellowship and sharing with Sergey and Katya, the pastor and his wife of Golgotha Church in Ryazan, and Anya, one of the leaders in the work there who is travelling with them.

Sergey was one of our first contacts when we began working with Russian churches 10 years ago and has developed as a leader of newer Russian churches. During our recent visit there Pat and I had a great time connecting with him around the state of the church in Russia and I thought he had a number of insightful observations that were worth sharing with our friends-hence this get-together and invitation!

He is in the U.S. for a couple of weeks seeking support for the ongoing work there, hoping for 100 people who will give $30/month to expand various Russian outreach ministries.

We would welcome you to join us for this update on the conditions of the church in Russia…and a nice time of fellowship together.

“A Taste of Russia” Well Attended

Thank you to those of you who attended our “A Taste of Russia” dinner on Sunday, April 25. It was a big success with approximately 180 people in attendance. We served Russian Pilmani, handmade by the Muliar Family, a Russian Cucumber and Tomatoe Salad with a fresh dill dressing, Russian Rye and Pumpernickle bread, various Russian desserts and Russian Tea.

The band that played was a group of Ukranians from Sacramento. Everyone agreed that they were wonderful and did a lot to add to the Russian atmosphere.

Patrick Day presented an overview of the ministry and Kathy Kleinert previewed ROR’s new website. Bill Polley, ROR’s President, spoke as well. The total money raised at the event was about $2,300.

Thank you for your support of ROR. Please continue to pray for this ministry and for the orphans in Russia and the Ukraine.
